We have had a wonderful first week back from break! We spent the week reviewing our classroom rules and routines. In addition, we also reviewed ways in which we can solve our own social problems.
During small groups this week we drew pictures of what our classroom rules mean and worked on patterns. At home, work with your child on recognizing patterns in your daily life, such as a bedtime routine or the stripes on a shirt. Finally, on Friday we had a brief discussion about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We discussed how the without his help we would not all be able to be in the same class. The children thought that was so silly. We read the book "Happy Birthday Martin Luther King" a very preschool appropriate biography. Of course the preschoolers become very focused on how Dr. King died so we also had a discussion regarding guns. Next week we will begin a two week study on Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The students were so interested in the Gingerbread Man, that we thought they might enjoy all the many versions of the 3 bears. No School: January 15th for Martin Luther King Day Have a great weekend, Ms. Weinberg and Ms. Moore
