We will have our third Parent and Child Activity on Friday, March 23rd from 9:30-10:30 in the school cafeteria. Remember that an adult must stay and cycle through the activities with their child. All students should attend this session. This is an excellent opportunity for you to see what your child can do and how you can help your student at home.
Spring Break is right around the corner! Our Spring Break will be from Monday, March 26th – Friday, March 30th. Field trip money is due Friday, March 16th. We will be seeing a performance of Knuffle Bunny at the Emerald City Theater on May 11. Next week we will be learning about Police Officers and Fire Fighters. Both classes voted on the job they were most interested in learning more about and these were the biggest vote getters. We will be reading books related to these two jobs and we will have a police officer and fire fighter come visit our class. For small groups we will be exploring how objects sink and float in water. The students will be doing observational drawings of what happens to the materials and our older children will try and write a word or two explaining what happened. Another group will be working on positional words by going through an obstacle course. Things you can do at home with your student: -Work on writing first and last name using both upper and lower case letters. -Read a book and have your children retell the story to you -Go on a walk with your child and point out how the seasons are starting to change -Count how many stairs you take to get home. Have a wonderful weekend, Ms. Weinberg and Ms. Moore
