The students really enjoyed reading, The Mitten by both Jan Brett and Alvin Tresselt. You can check out some of the activities we did on our bulletin board in the library. We were very busy exploring how many many animal crackers we could fit in different sized mittens. The children also had a chance to re-enact the story to practicing their retelling.
Next week, we will be shifting our focus to community helpers and different occupations. The preschoolers in both classes have been showing an interest in police officers so we thought we would start by hearing what the preschoolers know about the jobs people can have. Talk to your children about the different jobs people in your family have. in case you missed it: I am excited and nervous to announce that I am pregnant due in August. In the past I have had higher risk pregnancies but, so far this one is looking good. I just wanted to share so that if your students come home mentioning my already large stomach you are able to answer any questions that they might have. Thank you for your understanding! Please remember that only staff members can open up the doors. Do not open the doors for anyone! Have great weekend, Ms. Weinberg and Ms. Moore
