Preschool Newsletter: October 6, 2015
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! This week we will be starting on mini-unit on apples. All throughout October we will be focusing on Fall and science. This week the preschoolers will be drawing observational drawings of apples. We will be taste testing different apples and reading many different fiction and non-fiction books about apples. Last week we began small groups. Students work in small group for 5-10 minutes. Some student will work with a teacher while others will work independently. The preschoolers did an amazing job with small groups and we are excited to continue the fun this week. We will begin to accept volunteers in the classroom this month. If you have a volunteer form on record with the school then we would love for you to come in. There is a calendar available on the cubbies to sign up for a day. Volunteers will do everything from light housekeeping, putting away children’s work, reading with small groups, organizing the library area and any special projects we might have. Our first field trip will be this month. We will be going to Eden’s Place Pumpkin Patch on October 30th. Field trip forms will be available starting this week. The cost will be $12 for students and parent chaperones. The trip will take place in the morning and will be class for the day. The afternoon class will attend in the morning and class will be cancelled in the afternoon. We will also have our first parent-child activity on October 29th. There will be at least 4 of these a year and everyone is encouraged to attend. Again, this will be school for the day. The activities will take place in the morning and the afternoon class will be cancelled. Reminders:
Thanks and have a great week, Ms. Weinberg and Ms. Green
